Pay It Forward!

i watched a movie last week.a great movie. very inspirational. starring Haley Joel Osment as an 11 year old boy named Trevor McKenney, was given an assignment by his social study teacher, played by Kevin Spacey. Kevin played as Eugene Simonet, asked his students to find a way to change the world and work with whatever their ideas were.

sometimes cross in our minds a great deal of doubt whether a small and simple deeds we do can affect others.maybe this film could be a driver that gave us the spirit to always be not weary of doing good to others. none of good deed is too small dude!

the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Do (good) deeds according to your capacity…God does not grow tired of giving rewards unless you tire of doing good…The (good) deeds most loved by God are those that are done regularly, even if they are small.” (Fiqh-us-Sunnah, Volume 2, No 24)
Abu Zar (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:

the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) told me: "Do not consider even the smallest good deed as insignificant; even meeting your brother with a cheerful face is a good deed" (Muslim)

the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Every part of a person's body must perform a charity every day the sun comes up: to act justly between two people is a charity; to help a man with his mount, lifting him onto it or hoisting his belongings onto it is a charity; a good word is a charity; and removing a harmful thing from the road is a charity" (Bukhari and Muslim)

ok.the story begin as Trevor then came up with a very great idea that might change the world. the plan is to help three people, and i mean a really big help. the kind of help that could change a person's life, a better life that is. then, he will tell those 3 people not to pay his deeds back, instead pay them forward, by helping three other people. in that way, kindness will grow among the community and soon spreads all over the world. he used a system similar to multilevel-marketing. the system branching, growing from a person to another. a quick way to spread kindness.
the movie was made in 2001 and was based on a novel by Catherine Ryan Hyde which was published a year earlier. the interesting part is both the movie and novel had brought a mass impact on the community. there are actually a movement organised called Pay It Forward Movement they even got true life stories about people paying forward the deeds they received. maybe you can get some inspirations or guides to start the project of your own.
i think the idea of pay it forward should definitely be applied to our everyday life.maybe we could together start this benificial project.while we enjoying the goodness of God in our lives, and we wonder how to express our gratitude to Him, the answer is simple as, pay it forward to others around you. together we can change the world one favour at a time and make the world a better place to live.what do you guys think?
